TOKYO-April 22, 2009 – Shufunotomo Co., Ltd. and YAPPA Corporation, a leading company in user interface design, today announced the launch of the “Digital éf” application for the iPhone/iPod touch. The application allows users to view women’s web magazine published by Shufunotomosha on the iPhone and iPod touch screen utilizing YAPPA’s digital publication solution. This kind of service which delivers women’s magazine content for the iPhone/iPod touch is the first of its kind in Japan. The application is provided for free to users until the end of September, 2009.

Using YAPPA’ s digital printing delivery system and unique user interface, the application provides a high degree of usability to end users. Currently, the application offers approximately 15 pages of content from Digital éf, a web magazine published by Shufunotomosha. Once the application is downloaded to the device, users can easily view the latest trends in fashion, make up and other useful content.

Digital éf is a women’ s web magazine targeted towards working women. The magazine originally began as a paper-based publication, which was converted to an online digital format in 2006. The Digital éf application maintains the quality and style of a paper magazine while taking advantage of a web system, which is a lower cost alternative. In the future YAPPA and Shufunotomosha have plans to deliver other magazine titles and content to mobile phone users.

The iTunes Store is an online digital media store operated by Apple Inc. The iTunes Store provides a variety of content including music, movies, and games. Applications for the iPhone and iPod touch can be downloaded for free of charge depending on the application.

The App Store is a service for the iPhone and iPod Touch created by Apple Inc. which allows users to browse and download applications from the iTunes Store.
